> The native species included in this design are native to the Midwest and Northeastern United States, adaptable to many climates and USDA hardiness zones 3-8. The non-native species used in this design are guaranteed non-invasive per Indiana (and most midwest-northeast US) guidelines, and in most cases have additional benefits to insects and birds - nectar, pollen, host plant to butterflies, seeds.
These plants are native to most of the Midwest and Northeast United States, and perform well in planting zones 3-8.
This garden is approximately 750 square feet, running approximately 37 ft x 20 ft, with a main path and two small paths within.
This garden requires a minimum of 4 hours sun per day, but will perform best with 6hrs or more. While the native flowers within will survive with 4hrs sun, vegetable yields and bouquet flower growth will be better with 6+ hours of sun.
